Big Bear is located at the top of Southern California surrounded by National Forest, in the San Bernardino Mountains. We experience a moderate, high altitude, alpine climate with 310 days of sunshine and blue skies.
The Big Bear Valley is a wonderful place to enjoy yourself. We are conveniently adjacent to Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Diego. Whether you are looking for a high altitude training advantage or just want a quiet place to relax, you can still enjoy our beautiful pine and cedar trees.
Our lake is seven miles long and fully stocked with fish, Rainbow Trout, Bass. You can fish from the shore or spend the day on the lake in a boat. A Fishing License is required and readily available. There are two public launches on the North Shore where you can launch your boat and park. Or if you prefer, you can rent a boat from one of the local Big Bear marinas.
Cool in the Summer and Cold in the Winter, Big Bear is an ideal Southern California vacation getaway. There are many cabin rentals, hotels and motels in the area. Book your family a cabin and enjoy a warm sit by the fireplace after a great day in Big Bear.
